La Boquilla is a fishing village its population comes from afrocolombian ethnic groups, this village is localated to the north of Cartagena de Indias city, this village has more than 250 years of foundation, it has many cultural traditions, history and characteristics belong to the Caribbean coastal villages in Colombia, people are very happy and their traditional arts of production are the gastronomic.

ETHNOTOURISTIC ROUTE AT THE FISHING VILLAGE

1) The first step. Cemetery of La Boquilla
Begin at the cemetery where a local guide tells stories about the composition of the community, how boquilleros live, the main activities of the natives.

2. Communitarian Medical center.
Our local guide talks about medical situation and all things related with that.

3. Artisan man wooden workshop
This stop is the first interaction between visitants and local people; the artisan show is models and his designs.

4. The main street – La Placita
This is the most important square of the community where the fandangos (traditional dance originaly from African rhythms) were performed by older women and man.

 5. The cultural house
This house is the emblem of  the community here of the cultural activities are performing.

6. Traditional fishing family.
Our visitors take a sit and talk with patron de pesca  “boss of fishing” tell us how is the fishing activities, his tools, and  stories from the sea.

Then we take the way into the community by the main and Narrow Streets, talks about religions education and stories, during this walking we are going to see the main catholic church, the high school, traditional discotheques, champetas music, this way goes direct to the dock where the canoes are.  And get on board an adventure into the natural tunnels of mangroves and coastal protected lagoon feel touching with nature, migratory and endemic birds.

7. T ypical lunch
One of the most traditional thing at the fishing village is the gastronomy and visitors taste the typical plate with fish, plantains and coconut rice.
